Project Life 2013

I am ready for the new year!!! Last year I attempted Project Life but it was an epic FAIL. For so many reasons. This year I've resolved to get to it, keep at it, and enjoy the process. I've been collecting things and I'm raring and ready to go!!

My Process

I will be doing my weeks from Monday-Sunday. I want to keep the weekends together in one spread. Plus on Mondays I have to house to myself and can concentrate on putting the weekly layout together. I will take notes in my planner and transfer them onto journal cards or layouts.

Organization

Organization is very important to me. Especially visually. If my craft room is a mess, I tend to lose all motivation. I like to have things in their place when I'm done creating. I've been able to successfully organize the basics: stamps, inks, PL journal cards, pens, markers, dies, adhesives, ribbon, washi, tools, cardstock and patterned paper. So far I'm very happy with the homes I've made for them.

One thing that I was mulling over was how to keep my weekly spread organized. I know me...if it was just sitting in the album waiting for me to add stuff to it, it would end up not getting done. The weird thing about me being so visual is that I need to see it, BUT it has to be in some orderly fashion! So I came up with this idea. I'm using a magnetic wipee board for my weekly spreads. I altered some magnets with washi tape. The magnets hold up 2 of the Project Life  Page Protectors (design A). I'm able to slip in photos or journal cards pretty easily. I intend to pull out the journal cards throughout the week and play around with them to see how I like them set up. For the area surrounding the pages I will be putting up misc items, maybe write down some ideas that pop up. I hope to utilize this baby as much as I can!

You can see a bit of a closer look here. I am really loving the days of the week washi magnets. It will be a great way for me to keep track of what day the journal card is for. I have many other ideas swirling around!

So that's it for now. I just wanted to pop in and show y'all how I'll be spending my crafty time this year.

Happy and Healthy New Year to you!! xo
