Ian/Anya Card Swap

I finally finished my card for the Ian/Anya swap on SCS. Funny how things pile up SO fast when you get one week behind. Having the girls get the flu one after the other really got me behind. I'm trying to catch up with my card making, scrapbooking and housework. In that order. ;-)

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you are all having a sweet day today! I have big plans to finish up some cards that are sitting on my craft table. In the meantime here is the card that I gave a sneak peek of the other day. My Father asked me to make a card so he could give it to my Mom. Talk about pressure!! And add to the fact that my Mom is a true artist. Yikes! I hope she likes it.

I used some of her favorite things; Pink, Glitter, Flowers and Bling. The 50's Sweethearts by The Greeting Farm was perfect for this card since my parents grew up in this era. I have never used a Digital Stamp before so it took me more time to actually print the image than to make the card. Yes really. I am not very computer savvy.

I made the couple 3D and gave the heart 3 layers. I colored the image in with Copic Markers and added Red Stickles to the heart. Since he is a Greaser, I added Crystal Effects to his hair to make it look like he has hair gel in it. She got a tiny little pearl put on her bow. I used Liquid Pearls on the scallop circle.

Inside the card I left it blank for my Dad to write his own sentiment. I added the couple on the bottom and colored them in with my Copics. This picture is super blurry because my camera is on the fritz. Maybe my Valentine will get a new camera. ;-)

That's it for now. Thanks for looking and I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's day!

Miss Anya the Mall Rat

This is such a cute set of Anya. As all Anyas, she is so much fun to color! I tried matching her to some Chatterbox paper that I had laying around. Her bow and the bags on the left are popped up on dimensionals. I put some Stickles on her bows and hair band. Can't wait to ink up the others! TFL!

Sneak Peek

I made a special card for a special person. I don't want it to be seen by said person until she receives it in hand. So this is just a sneak peek until sometime next week.

PTI Bitty Dots Contest Submission

Well since I am such a moron and can't understand deadlines, I was about a day late on the bag contest. {rolling my eyes} So by the time I figured out what a genius I was and missed the contest, it was time for a new contest. So here is my submission that got in well before the cut off time.

Nichole gave us a sketch this time. Thank goodness for that because my brain is turning to mush. I've been stuck in the house for 4 days now with kids that have the flu. You'd think I could stamp more, but quite the opposite. My girls love to cuddle when they don't feel well. And they are so cute, how can I resist?

The lucky winner receives a ton of PTI ribbon. And who doesn't love PTI ribbon?!!

Stamps: PTI Take a Bough, Butterfly Kisses, Anniversary Set
Ink: PTI Sweet Blush, SU Pretty in Pink, Palette Choc
Paper: PTI Sweet Blush, Vintage Cream, PTI Chocolate Remix Patterned Paper, SU Chocolate Chip

My Valentine Challenge

Marie over at The Greeting Farm is having another contest for Valentine's day. I doubt I'll win the challenge but I just cannot resist using these cute stamps!! This time I used Cowboy Ian and the bride from Cake Topper. I used the masking technique in order to combine the two. I popped up the hearts on dimensionals. I used my Copics to color in Ian and Anya, then cut them out and used dimensionals to put them up on the pink cardstock. It wasn't planned that way. I had a little accident and smeared some black ink on the area in between them. Of course it happens after the entire image is colored and the card is 98% done! But I think it turned out okay.

We had to add a poem with the card. I think mine is a bit twisted but hey, that's what happens when you are stuck at home for a long time. Teehee!

My Sweet little Buckaroo
I have so much Love for you

Even when you smell of manure
All I can think about is your allure

You dazzle me so with your charm
Let's go get busy on the Farm

Summer Anya & Pink Anya

These are simple cards with clean layouts. At least I hope they are. I've been focusing more on matching colors and papers than anything else. I am still pretty new to stamping and card making so I need lots of practice! I was able to get a couple more Anya cards done. I cleaned the house like a mad woman the other day just so I can sit, guilt free, in my craft room.

This first card is from the new set "Rock the Farm" by The Greeting Farm. Have I mentioned that this is one of my very favorite sets? Ever!! She is so much fun to color in and match to all of the pretty patterned paper that I have hoarded for ages. I have a ton of Chatterbox paper that I've been waiting to use for that "special occasion". Yeah, you know what I'm talking about. You just wait and wait and wait. I just couldn't bear to cut them. I think these papers are about 3 years old!!! I cut her out and pop her up so it looked like she was in front of the fence. I think the flower is kind of big and goofy but I left it anyway.

Ink: SU Brocade Blue
Paper: PTI Summer Sunrise, White Select, SU Bashful Blue
Other: PTI Summer Sunrise Polka Dot Satin Ribbon, Prima Flowers, Copics, Martha Stewart Fence Punch, SU Rhinestone Brad, Stickles

This next card was finished pretty quickly. I was able to match everything up in no time. It was also easy because I just used the same layout. Again I used some of my Chatterbox paper that I've been hording. I made some of her outfit 3D. The bandana, bows and pockets. I had trouble making a nice looking knot on the bow. I think that took the longest! LOL! And I got a stamping injury in the process of this card. I gashed my finger on the paper cutter. Thank goodness it isn't my stamping hand or else I don't know what I would have done!

Rock the Farm

On Monday, I received 2 brand new unreleased sets from The Greeting Farm. Oh boy was I excited!! Now I know what Design Team members must feel like when they receive their sets. I just couldn't wait to ink those babies up! I had a ton of housework and errands to do, but I managed to implement my "Five minutes here and there" technique throughout the day and got a couple of cards completed.

This first card was inspired by my much loved and hoarded Chatterbox patterned paper. I took the colors from the design and incorporated it onto Anya. I was thrilled to see that my very limited set of Copics matched perfectly! I tried some new paper recommended by the ever Fabulous Gabby (Faieemom). It's Wasau Cardstock and I got it at Target. It's similar to the Georgia Pacific cardstock, but it blends the Copic markers really, really nicely. I have to apologize for the terrible lighting. By the time I was done, it was dark out due to an Ice storm we had. And I have HORRIBLE lighting in my craft room. Heck, in my entire house. My lovely hubby bought me an Ott light lamp for Christmas but I took it back because I felt so guilty about the money he spent on it. I should have kept it! I'm hoping to get something soon. I feel like I am working in a cave!

This second card I had a difficult time designing. I just love the Top Note Die but it's so big it kind of takes up the entire card. I love sewing on my cards. I would do it to each and every one if I could. I used my new Martha Stewart Butterfly punch. I love those little delicate butterflies. After I colored in Anya, I cut her out and pop dotted her up on the card. I wanted to outline her with my Gray Copic, but wouldn't you know it, it was running out of ink!! This is such my luck. Every time I get into a card making groove I run out of something important.

I have another card to share but it's not completely finished yet. The girls are home from school today due to the weather so I'm not sure how much I can get done. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

This is a Thank You card that I sent to a special someone. She sent me a Princess Anya stamp. So I thought a card with that image might be appropriate. The sentiment is from The Greeting Farm's set "Dream Quotes". I love all the quotes in this set and I HAD to have it.

I used Imaginisce patterned paper and a Martha Stewart Butterfly punch. I'm still practicing with my Copic Markers. I wish I had some more so I can do some of that fancy color blending. But I am on a strict budget right now so I am holding off.

I listed two cards on ebay today. I'm a little nervous. I've never sold anything that I have hand made. I think my biggest worry is that the cards will fall apart when the recipient touches them. Kinda silly though since I used that ever so strong ATG tape. Oh well. Wish me luck!!

Alright so here is Cowboy Ian in all his manly glory. On his hat I applied brown Flock, crystal effects and a piece of twine. I made him a redhead since I am married to one. ;)
