Out of the Box

{You can always click on the images for a bigger picture}

I have unofficially dubbed Saturdays the Official Do Nothing day. During the week I am in my car every 3 hours carting kids to and from school. And that doesn't include the running of errands. So Saturdays I like to get the girls on auto-pilot and create some cards. Makes me less cranky. And we know what happens when Momma ain't happy. ;)

Today I was able to complete 6 cards for a swap that I am in on SCS. I went totally out of my box and sort of cased a card from Betsy V's blog. You can see her creation here. I changed it up a bit by using supplies that I had on hand. I guess I was going for her shabby chic look.

One word of advice: Do NOT stamp with glitter while wearing your running pants. It gets caught up in all those little holes in the mesh material. At least I'll sparkle while running. ;)

Stamps: PTI Damask Design, Faux Ribbon
Ink: PTI Raspberry Fizz, Versamark
Paper: PTI Ocean Tides, Summer Sunrise, Raspberry Fizz, Basic Grey DSP
Misc: SU So Saffron Grosgrain Ribbon, SU Heat & Stick, CB Mini Tag die, misc button, misc glitter, flat back pearl

  1. Gorgeous! I love glitter and this is a great way to use it. As for you sparkling while running--you always sparkle girl!

    Oooo, gorgeous! Very shabby-chic indeed! Maybe I will get one in the swap.... I was wondering how you got the glitter to stick; I will have to try that Heat and Stick Powder.

  3. This is just beautiful!!! I love the glittered florish and the gorgeous paper! Wow! BUt the ribbon treatment is to die for! That is definitely going in my resource file! Duly noted about the glitter and running pants! LOL!
